Mommy, Where do Flowers Come From?

Many people think that all their beautiful fresh Wedding flowers are grown right here in the tropical paradise of Maui.  Ah!, but that is far from the reality of what is required to make that special day, well....so special.

The amazing people up Kula way at Atrium Design Works pull off incredible feats of importation on a daily basis.  Tulips from Amsterdam, Orchids from Thailand, Roses from Ecuador and countless varieties from the richness of California.

Fortunately for Maui, and her Brides, at least 40 airliner arrivals a day land here from far-away-places, most bringing something unique and special to Atrium Design Works.

There, they prune, feed and enhance the natural beauty to its maximum clarity so that vendors like Dellables Wedding Design and Florals can excel at what they do.

If it wasn't for them, we could only talk the talk and not walk the walk.  BIG MAHALOS!

Vintage Hawaiian Wedding

~ Over here on Maui I recently had the wonderful opportunity to work with the girls at Lollipop Event and Design!

A private home above Launiupoko Beach, near Lahaina, was chosen as the venue, affording the entire event a view to ends of the ocean.

We got very creative working together and the design flowed into what they called VINTAGE HAWAIIAN.

Photographer Christie Pham did the digital work!  Amazing.

Wedding Portfolio Shoot

I had so much fun doing this wedding portfolio shoot for Corey and Adiel on Thursday.  We started out at Heritage Gardens in Wailuku in the shadow of the beautiful Iao Valley.  This is an amazing place for photography, the lighting is almost always perfect and their are more beautiful backdrops than you could fit into one photo session! We then drove out to the rolling hills of Kapalua and met up with Tenya and James of Maui Rolls Royce Classics (www.mauirollsroyce.com) where we took some fantastic shots with their beautiful car called "The Princess".  BIG Mahalos to Della with Dellables (www.dellables.com) for providing the flowers.  I wanted to showcase these two locations to show that there are more beautiful areas of Maui for Wedding photography than the beach alone. When you are booking your Maui Wedding Photography, consider building some time into your coverage to take a trip to one of the many beautiful areas of Maui off the beach!  You can also view more photos on Good Karma Weddings (www.goodkarmaweddings.com) .

Another Happy Maui Wedding Couple Testimonial

Dellables had the great pleasure to work with the crew at A Paradise Dream Wedding here on Maui.
Everything went so well!  The Bride and Groom took time to send in a very glowing report, which we quote here.

Our wedding day was one of the most memorable days of our lives and we
could not be happier with A Paradise Dream Wedding for helping shape
our perfect wedding. The coordination from the get-go was great, by
both phone and email, our Coordinator Joanne Earls was fabulous and so
patient with all our requests. She really went the extra step to
allow us to include all the details important to us within our
wedding, as well as meeting with us the day before to review it all-
as per our request. We were drawn to APDW by the photography on the
web site and it does hold true to the end result- Ian Shepherd, our
photographer, was beyond amazing!!! He truly captured our day as we
had imagined and he went above and beyond for our wedding. His emails
were so attentive and genuine, and his amazing work proves why he is a
part of such a talented group. He took his time shooting our
requested shots and had awesome follow up communication. Kimo Kirkman
was our minister and we truly believe no one else was meant to perform
our wedding. His genuine words and calming voice set for a perfect
ceremony! Tim O’Hara, our guitarist was just right! Jean Muldoon did
awesome on hair and makeup- she was wide awake at 6 AM and ready to
go, she executed the look I requested even better than the inspiration
photos I provided to her- just fabulous! The flower bouquets
requested were right on, and the petal aisle and reception decor by
Della Peacock were amazing! She was such a shining angel in the mist
of flower planning frustration and her gorgeous table arrangements
surpassed my highest expectations- I smiled inside when our day had
finally arrived and all my “interior designer obsessive decor” nerves
were calmed by the beautiful table Della had set!
Our day was so
special to us, not only for our personal commitments and having had
such a perfect wedding, but because of the people who helped make it
happen. We’ll always remember “our Maui spot” and all the individuals
above who
were a part in our very memorable day. THANKS APDW!!!!!!
